Blues Drop Opener

The Parry McCluer volleyball team opened the 2019 season with a straight sets loss to James River, falling to the Knights 8-25, 15-25, 19-25 Monday night in Buena Vista.

After a slow start in the first game, the Blues (0-1) battled back to make the remainder of the contest interesting. Senior Chloe Persinger led the Blues with five kills, while senior Grayson Shields came up with five digs and served up an ace. Sophomore Sydney Cullen dished out three assists.

The Blues will return to action for a pair of road games this week, taking on Buffalo Gap Wednesday (Aug. 28) and traveling to Rockbridge County Thursday (Aug. 29)
